Work Experience

Pillow Talk Art Department - Design Assistant
I spend my time at Pillow Talk creating sales tickets for the 55 stores Australia wide. This involves entering data, and using my design and adobe suite skills to make sure the customer is conveyed a clear message. At Pillow Talk I have gained and developed many of my skills including, Indesign, Graphic Design, shortcut knowledge, printing knowledge and basic corporate design environment experience.

Street & Garden co. - Intern
During my time interning at Street & Garden I was able to follow the process that a professional design firm takes. I developed from the initial concept stage a bag designed specifically for students. As an Intern I developed my skills including sketching, concept development, rapid prototyping, real space, and Solidworks skills. I also got to follow and learn about processes within the business including integration with clients, sample delivery, processing, manufacture process, manufacture interactions, professional portfolios and catalogues made by the business.

The Edge, Queensland State Library - Intern
The Edge has been an excellent place for me to develop my skills and experience in a business setting. During my time at The Edge I have extended my knowledge about multiple machines including laser cutting and CNC routing. I have also expanded my knowledge of 3D modelling software and rapid prototyping. I have gained great knowledge of manufacturing processes and about plywood as a material. Towards the end of my internship The Edge offered my a paid contract to help design and perform a workshop about AutoCAD Fusion 360 and how it can be used to laser cut.
Pillow Talk Textiles Design - Intern
As an Intern at pillow talk I developed my Adobe skills, however more importantly I gained a knowledge of design in a corporate setting and learned about relations between manufacturers and corporate businesses. I mostly learned about testing prototypes sent from manufacturers to the business. Learning about textiles was a new experience that I welcomed, and I have found that pattern design has helped in general upholtry knowledge.
Fliere Design - Non-exclusive sales contract
Recently I have made a non-exclusive contract deal with a company based in California called Fliere Design Co. My job is to make and supply them with my Dream Catcher design, which can be found under projects. I have learned a lot of business skills from this contract including the does and don'ts involved with design business.
